Ghent has a lot of great coffeeshops, but my favorite one -without doubt- is Gust. It openend its doors in August, and has been going strong ever since. Besides the usual drinks and sweets (read: coffee, hot chocolate and cake) you can go there to get some breakfast or lunch, which is exactly what I did this morning. Low prices, great food, and a lovely service, that pretty much sums it up. Be sure to make a reservation if you’re planning to go on Sunday, or you might not manage to get a spot. In a hurry? That’s fine too, because they also provide take-away at even lower prices. You can choose to be healthy (oatmeal, yes ma’am) or.. not so healthy (American pancakes with maple syrup), but either way it’s definitely worth a try.
