Don’t ask me why, don’t ask me how, but my brain always needs a second to proces whether or not I’m imagining the right face with the correct name when it comes to Charlize and Charlene. They’re both blonde beauties who lived in South-Africa, they both have partly German ancestry, and they both know how to speak the African language (and yes, I do realize that makes sense). Oh, and they can have the same nickname, Charlie. While Charlize initially started her career as a ballet dancer and ended up as a model and famous actress, Charlene focussed on swimming, even competing at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. And now she’s married to Albert II, Prince of Monaco, which gives her this fun title: “Her Serene Highness The Princess of Monaco”. Not too shabby.

The only moment I’m sure of who is pictured in front of me, is when I see a clear photo. Not because I think they look a lot different than each other, but because Charlene always looks like she’s absolutely miserable. Seriously. I’ve not once seen that woman smile. And if she does try smiling, it kinda makes me feel really really really uncomfortable. Her constant depressed facial expression makes me think she’s regretting every life choice made after meeting dear old prince Albert (except the children of course. That would be cruel. SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!). Charlize on the other hand looks radiant and full of life in just about every photo made of her. Go ahead Charlize, rub it in. You’re successful, gorgeous and you can understand Dutch. We get it.

Come to think of it, I used to be just as confused about Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman. But not anymore. Succes! Result! Progress!
